First MULTISOURCE Gender Equality Workshop

What a great Workshop! MULTISOURCE organized its first gender equality workshop on the 6 th of October, focused on our assumptions and perceptions about the roles of men and women in society, the consequences they might have on their lives, as well as their impact on the environment. The relevance of a participatory approach will be discussed in the case of Multisource’s pilot cases, as a first step in ensuring gender mainstreaming in all stages of the project. The workshop objectives were to:

• Examine perceptions and assumptions about the roles of men and women in both the private and public life
• Discuss the influence of gender roles and stereotypes on lives of men and women, including their impact on environment
• Acquire skills that will enable partners to start using a gender approach and gender-sensitive communication in their work
• Begin analysing and applying participative methods, using an intersectional approach.
