On the 7th of May, the 6th MULTISOURCE Splashdown Webinar is coming up under the title ‘Optimizing Treatment Wetlands for Total Nitrogen Removal’. The webinar will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 pm CEST, and will feature as speakers:

- Mireille Martens, Rietland
Mireille Martens will delve into strategies for enhancing nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands, focusing on optimizing the denitrification process and implementing operational adjustments to achieve removal rates of up to 80% or higher.
Otto R. Stein will provide a comprehensive overview of the challenges associated with total nitrogen removal in wastewater treatment systems. He will discuss nitrogen removal pathways in treatment wetland systems, emphasizing the significance of the carbon/nitrogen ratio in driving denitrification and achieving effective total nitrogen removal. Additionally, Otto will present case studies, including insights from two MULTISOURCE pilot wetland systems, showcasing various strategies for optimizing nitrification and denitrification tailored to different C:N ratios.
