Roundtable talk ‘Involving communities in water management’ on 15 June

Experts can provide quality environmental and societal solutions, but is it enough? Involving people, communities, and civil society can also play a crucial role. If you are interested in exploring this topic, you can join the Roundtable on 15 June 2023, starting at 11:00 CEST. More specifically, the discussion will address;

  • How end users in Slovenia, Europe and Uganda are included in the decision-making process on water management;
  • What kind of approaches to water management bring about the highest quality of living on one hand and the preservation of nature on the other and;
  • How water management can lead to increases or perhaps to fewer inequalities in the society.

The goal of the discussion is to find more participatory practices in water management that bring about benefits not only for the environment, but also for all inhabitants. The following experts will guide us through the discussion:

  • Andrej Lukšič, PhD (Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana);
  • Alexandra Popartan, PhD (The Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, University of Girona);
  • Alenka Zalaznik (Limnos);
  • Bolingo Ntahira (Hope of Children and Women Victims of Violence, Uganda);
  • Ana Kalin (Forum for Equitable Development).

The roundtable will be moderated by Alja Bulič (KUD Center 21). You can join the discussion online on the following link:
